Hothouse 3D is a system for creating, storing and organizing 3D models for a wide variety of plants, shrubs and trees. Each Hothouse spece can spawn myriad plant variations, each with diffuse, bump, normal and specular maps. The spece editor gives real time feed back so that a representative plant model can be viewed at every stage as it is moulded into shape. Multiple seasonal texture maps may be applied for generating plants with foliage appropiate to any time of the year. Full control over the required level of detail enables models containing from hundreds to hundreds of thousands of triangles to be saved to a standard .obj or .3ds file.
Key Features
Create models for a wide variety of plant, shrub and tree species. Specify a range for each property describing plant to plant variations. Representative plant models are generated in real time as properties change. Create a new random plant at the press of a button (or click of a mouse). Five sample species included with high resolution textures. Complete control over spece structure and textures. Level of detail mechanism can generate models from hundreds to thousands of triangles. Comprehensive statistics available for the currently viewed plant model. Import your own diffuse, specular, normal and bump maps. Variety of rendering options. Save the current plant to a 2D alpha mapped .png image file. Export plant models to .obj or .3ds files. Integrated help system. Automatically download software updates (customisable).
2.0へのUPでの注目はRadial Bend とTranslation dialog boxです。 日本語化を途中までやりましたが、思ったより良くなかったので中座。 単語のまとまりが良くないと、かえって不便かも、、、、、、
●Scale (box, target) ==> same as version 1.0 ●Taper (box, target) ==> same as version 1.0, but try to reconstruct curves, and gives option for properties of newly generated edges Planar Shear (box, target, free) ==> new, and done as a native deformation, in live mode (so not destructive for components and curves) ●Stretch (box, target) ==> new, with possibility to adjust the stretching plane (by default, in the middle). Stretch needs a little bit more work, with more options to decide between preserving or exploding curves (currently it always preserve curves). ●Twist (box only) ==> new, based on a rotation angle, with an optional slicer ●Radial Bend (free only) ==> new, partial or total, with an optional slicer to obtain smoother curves ●Rotate (box, free) ==> nothing fancy, except that Shift and Arrows are used as ●Toggle for locking planes (i.e. no need to keep the keys depressed)
